Definition

Industrial production process of the fusion type, in which the liquid material (molten metal) passes through a permanent form, called ingot mold, with an open bottom thanks to the gravitational force. The form is made of copper and is externally cooled with water. The semifinished products obtained by the continuous casting process, depending on their section, are called billets or slabs, and are intended for further industrial production processes, such as lamination.

Skills

SOMIN can assembly and modernize varied kinds of continuous casting system (number of casting lines and kind of final product). Thanks to the experience that has grown during the years, SOMIN can assure high level of quality during the assembly of all the machines and their components.
